GET the kids moving in Warrington this summer – with a little help from Disney.
The borough council is supporting Change4Life with Disney as they launch their Ten Minute Shake-Up campaign.
The campaign aims to inspire children and families to complete a recommended 60 minutes of exercise each day.
Ultimate goal is to get children across England to move for an extra 100 million minutes throughout this summer.
Families who sign-up will receive a free “10 Minute Shake Up” pack containing a stopwatch, a Disney wall chart, stickers, activity cards and a whole host of magical 10 minute activities!
Cllr Pat Wright, the council’s lead member for health and wellbeing, said: “We’re pleased to announce our support for the Change4Life with Disney ’10 Minute Shake Up’ campaign.
“Ensuring that kids get their recommended 60 minutes of daily exercise is
important, but it can be hard to keep them interested. Breaking it down into 10 minute bursts of fun keeps kids engaged – sign up for your activity pack for some free inspiration today.”
The campaign aims to help the four in five children who currently are not getting enough exercise and the 40 per cent of children who do less than half the recommended daily amount.
