NHS offices to become nursery school

PLANS to convert an old NHS administration block into a nursery school have been put to Warrington planning chiefs.
The development involves premises at Meadowside Primary School, in Clough Avenue, Orford – and work on the conversion has already started.
A report to be considered by the borough council’s planning committee is for conversion of former NHS offices into a nursery for two-year-olds within the school site.
Proposed opening hours will be from 8am to 5pm so it is anticipated that many of the nursery pick-up and drop-off times will be outside the times of the school pick-up and drop-off times. In addition, some could be combined trips with children attending the nursery have older siblings already attending the school.
There is an existing 52 space car park so it is thought there will be no significant difference in parking.
The building was converted to office use in 2007. Prior to that it was the school sports hall.
There will be a fenced, external play area with safety play surfaces which will be available for use throughout the year.
Officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
