Error on polling card

2

AN error has been discovered on hundreds of polling cards distributed in the Fairfield and Howley area of Warrington.
The cards state that the polling station for the ward is at St John’s Mission.
But in fact, this location is no longer available and the polling station is now St Oswald’s Parish Club, on Padgate Lane.
New polling cards are being distributed giving the correct location.
A borough council spokesperson said: “The mistake was due to an IT error and the council apologises for any confusion.”

  1. What a mess! At every election since the new Chief Executive arrived something has gone wrong at election time. When is she going to be shown the door? I understood that a conference has just been held, at great cost, to make sure that things went well at elections. Again, what a waste of money that was. As for the computer error – the computer replies on what is put into it. Will there now be a meaningful investigatrion to find out who made this mistake and will discipline follow? Where will the additional funds for the new cards come from? Councill Tax Payers will have to fund, no doubt.
