WARRINGTON Wolves centre Anthony Gelling will stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court next month after pleading not guilty to grievous bodily harm.
Gelling, 29, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court today (Tuesday) to deny the charge and was released on bail.
He was stood down by the Wolves after his arrest back in February, but returned to action, scoring in the last game before lockdown against Hull FC.
A Cheshire Police statement said: “Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man with grievous bodily harm.
“Anthony Gelling, of Cronton Lane Mews in Widnes, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 28 July.
“The charge relates to an incident at an address on Cronton Lane Mews in Widnes on Thursday 6 February and subsequently reported to police on Saturday 8 February.”
