16-year-old turns in a stand-out performance

WARRINGTON Athletics Club had five athletes competing in the Cheshire 10k at Arley, with a stand out performance from their youngest competitor, 16-year old Jordan Jones.
Jordan, a Lymm Sixth Form student who lives in Grappenhall, was competing over 10km for the first time.  He finished his debut 10km in  33.03 mins which ranks Jordan 8th in the 10km UK rankings for his age group.
Nick Jones, Jordan’s father, finished in 20th place overall and won bronze in V40 category with 33.01 mins.
Graham Green, a Cheshire Firefighter who lives in Grappenhall, won the V50 category and was 38th place overall with 34.33 mins.
Paul Bagan, also from Grappenhall, finished 5th in the V40 category and 44th place overall with 35.03 mins.
And Mervyn Ward, from Cinnamon Brow, finished 2nd in the V60 category and 180th overall with 41.42 mins.
