TOP Northern Soul band are set to make Sweet Soul Music this Saturday at a charity fundraiser in aid of Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP).
Five-piece party band Soul Searchers, which includes Latchford resident and guitarist Alan Smith, will be live at Alford Sports and Social Club on Manchester Road from 7pm to 11pm.
Soul, disco and Motown hits such as Soul Man, Mustang Sally and Long Train Running are guaranteed to get the dance floor rocking.
Lead singer Guy Loveday said: “There’s something for everyone; we like to create a party atmosphere.
“We support two or three carefully chosen charities every year and are well aware of the excellent work WDP do to support disabled people to live independently. For a number of personal reasons, it’s a charity that’s got a special place in all our hearts. As soon as the idea of a gig was mentioned, the whole band said: ‘Count us in!’
“We want to put on a great show; to give everyone a good time, and – most importantly – to raise money for WDP as they approach their 25th anniversary year.”
Tickets cost just £5 and can be purchased in advance either by telephoning WDP’s team leader of community engagement and fundraising,
Janis Williams, on 01925 240064 or by emailing [email protected]
Tickets will also be available to purchase on the club’s door on Saturday night, but please reserve them in advance.
Janis said: “On behalf of the senior management team at WDP, I would like to sincerely thank the Soul Searchers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to watch a hugely sought-after group of performers at the very top of their game for an absolute bargain price – all while supporting local disabled people. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t miss out. ‘Make sure you get yours today and join us for what is sure to be a night of first-class entertainment!”
