THE language of flowers is the theme for this year’s Ecumenical Service of Remembrance to be held at Walton Lea Crematorium tomorrow (Sunday) at 3pm.
“Bouquet of Life” is the title of the event which is planned to be a reflection of life’s journey through flowers, tracing the effect of grief, healing, friendship and hope.
Moving from marigolds to snowdrops, with petal scattering, the Bereavement Services team from the borough council have been planning the day, which is always well attended by both community leaders and those recently bereaved.
Weather permitting, the service will be held outdoors, with seating “café style”.
Memorial bookmarks will be distributed after the release of balloons, with name cards attached.
“It seems to strike a chord with a wide range of folk, who find it helpful” saidthe Rev Stephen Kingsnorth of Warrington Borough
Ministry, who leads the service in association with Canon Christopher Cunningham and hospital chaplain, the Rev John Duffield.
The service is open to all.
