AWARD-winning musician Esco Williams visited Sir Thomas Boteler High School, Warrington, to help raise awareness of equality, integrity and diversity through music.
Esco, who has won a MOBO award and is one of MTV’s top 20 artists of the year, visited as part of the Anthony Walker Foundation Roadshow (in memory of the Black Liverpool student who was murdered in 2005).
The aim of the roadshow was to raise awareness of equality, integrity and diversity, through music.
Pupils were enthralled by his music and the message of his songs about sharing cultures.
Head of English Cathy Munroe, who taught Anthony Walker in Liverpool, said: “It was the most traumatic experience of my career.
“Equality is a global issue and what Esco Williams has brought into school through the Anthony Walker Foundation is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to think about other people and how we treat people who are different from ourselves and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.”
