Warrington-based theatre company, Soup Productions, will be bringing their next show to the Studio in Widnes on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October.
“Sweeney Todd: A Legacy of Blood” a reimagining of the classic, gothic tale of the demon barber of Fleet Street. This production is an originally written story, based loosely on the book “A String of Pearls” released in 1847, and promises to breathe new life into the legend of Sweeney Todd and his dangerous accomplice, Mrs Lovett, as they seek revenge and murder across London. He kills men, she bakes them into pies, and everything else you were told are lies. Resting in hostility, the audience is invited to attend their tale from the place they now call home.
This play is a piece of immersive theatre, where live interaction with actors will be encouraged.
This latest production continues Soup’s ethos into creating original drama, with its members writing and directing their own work, which the group has been recognised for since forming in 2017 and has led to award nominations from NODA and the Northern Stage Awards.
The show runs on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June – 7:30pm start time/7pm doors open.
