Sellafield Ltd employees have been getting stuck into the action at Warrington Youth Zone’s Victoria Park Experience (VPX), volunteering their time to help deliver free activities for young people across Warrington.
Sellafield Ltd is a Founder Patron of Warrington Youth Zone and a long-standing supporter of the charity’s work to transform the lives of young people across the town.
Victoria Park Experience is a programme of free activities for young people, delivered by Warrington Youth Zone every Wednesday throughout August, in partnership with Warrington BID. The programme gives young people the opportunity to try something new, meet friends and enjoy positive activities during the summer holidays, completely free of charge.
The Sellafield team volunteered across two VPX sessions, joining the Youth Zone team at both Bank Park and Victoria Park. Volunteers got involved in a wide range of activities throughout the days, helping to register young people as they arrived, supporting arts and crafts activities and getting stuck into one of the most popular activities of all, making slime!
Their support helped the Youth Zone team to deliver a packed programme of activities and ensured even more young people could enjoy a fun, safe and positive experience during the summer holidays.
Aoife Finlay, Volunteer Manager at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “Thank you so much to the team at Sellafield Ltd who came to volunteer at our VPX days. It was great to have you a part of the team, we really couldn’t do it without you. Especially all the slime making!”
