Adoption Matters supporters Kate and Martin Slack have hosted their sixth garden party in aid of the Warrington-based children’s charity, raising £1,700 in support of their vital work.
On Saturday 27th June 2026, Kate and Martin opened up the beautiful grounds of their home in Ashton Hayes, near Chester, offering a fun-filled afternoon whilst making a difference to children and families’ lives.
Adopter families and members of the public enjoyed the beautiful woodlands of Ashton Grange, taking part in a forest school hosted by Juliet Mochrie and enjoying entertainment from children’s entertainer Andy Green.
Visitors also had the chance to indulge in a selection of homemade treats, with Kate and local villagers baking goods for guests to enjoy.
Annie O’Neill, Adoption Matters’ Fundraising and Relationship Manager, commented:
“We can’t thank Kate and Martin enough for their generosity in opening up their beautiful home and gardens.
“This is a brilliant event that many of our families look forward to each year and their continued support makes a real difference to the children and families we work with.
“We would also like to express our gratitude to all of the brands, individuals and businesses who contributed as donors to the event – there were some fabulous raffle and tombola prizes on offer.”
All funds raised from this event will go towards more support for adoptive families and adopted adults through the charity’s support service, the Centre for Fostering and Adoption Support.
