Birchwood Park welcomed hundreds of visitors from across Warrington and the surrounding areas to its annual summer fundraising event, Duckfest, raising an impressive £5,000 for the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project.

The popular community event brought together families, businesses and local residents for a day of entertainment, creativity and fundraising, all in support of the charity’s work in helping young people and their families navigate the challenges and impacts of harmful online content.
Last year, the Birchwood Park Community raised an incredible £4,000 – and this year’s efforts highlight that the local support and generosity continue to grow, with the overall total being raised by £1,000.
With glorious weather providing the perfect backdrop, visitors enjoyed live music, crafts, a BBQ and a host of duck-themed activities.

The creativity on display extended to the best dressed duck competition, with this year’s winners including:

  • ‘Wall-E’ (Under 8s)
  • ‘Sponge Bob’ (8-16s)
  • ‘David Quackenborough’ (Over 16s)

Local businesses also showed their support through the Corporate Duck competition, further helping to raise vital funds for the charity. Participants included Werfen, Goodlife Recruitment, Avoira, Labdesk, Tenet Consultants, NG Bailey, Warrington Fire, and Dine Contract Catering submitted fantastic designs, with NG Bailey taking the win.
Linda Welsby, Leasing Manager at Birchwood Park, said, “Duckfest is a real highlight in the Birchwood Park calendar – it’s incredible to see the community come out in force in support of such an important cause. The accomplishment of raising £5,000 is a testament to the generosity and spirit of all those who took part.
We’re incredibly proud to be able to continue to support Esther and her team’s critical work, and we’d like to thank our Birchwood Park team for making the day such a success.”
Birchwood Park will continue to support Brianna Ghey Legacy Project throughout the year, with fundraising events and initiatives planned in the months ahead.
