THE Penketh Summer Fayre 2026 brought the community together for a sun-drenched day of festivities at Penketh Primary School on Saturday, 20 June 2026.
Organised by the school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA), the free-entry event served as a major community anchor. This was especially meaningful for residents following confirmation that the traditional, larger Penketh Carnival at Greystone Recreation Ground could not go ahead due to ongoing ground and drainage limitations.
Local groups—including dance troupes- took part in the event, which attracted visitors to the school grounds on Coniston Avenue to enjoy a packed afternoon of live entertainment.
A standout performance by the Warrington Concert Band provided a wonderful musical backdrop to the summer sunshine.
The PTFA successfully transformed the academy fields into a bustling festival hub. Visitors enjoyed a wide variety of activities.
A major highlight was the dog show, where local pet owners entered their dogs into a variety of friendly categories, competing for rosettes and prizes.
Children and families queued up for small fairground rides, traditional tombola stalls, and an interactive circus skills workshop.
There were also unique craft, gift, and community stalls showcasing independent regional businesses and charity initiatives.
Attendees made the most of the great weather at a busy community BBQ, refreshment stands, and a dedicated festival bar. Beyond offering a memorable day out, the fayre serves as a vital fundraiser. All proceeds from the games, stalls, and the grand summer raffle are allocated directly to support new projects, learning resources, and extracurricular opportunities for the children of Penketh Primary School.
Volunteers from the PTFA expressed immense gratitude to the neighbourhood, noting that the turnout proved how tightly knit the Penketh community remains.
Special guests included Mayor of Warrington Sagheer Azman, who is pictured top at the Warrington Disability Partnership tombola.
