New digital screens at Orford Jubilee Pharmacy aim to increase awareness of pharmacy and NHS services

Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub pharmacy, owned by Imaan Healthcare, has showcased a new digital signage solution designed to increase patient awareness and drive uptake of pharmacy services.

The installation includes four high-quality screens, including a widescreen over-the-counter display, delivering animated, evidence-based health content. Developed by Luto and delivered in collaboration with TVC Technology Solutions, the content highlights services such as Pharmacy First and other funded consultations that many patients are eligible for.
The initiative addresses a common challenge in community pharmacy: low awareness of available services. Traditional posters and window displays are often overlooked and not designed with patient understanding in mind.
Based on our site-survey, 70% of passers-by would now .recommend the pharmacy to family and friends after seeing information about services on our digital screens
With even modest increases in service uptake, the model is expected to be cost-neutral, effectively acting as an extra member of the team, helping patients understand what’s on offer.
According to the National Pharmacy Association, 65% of pharmacies are operating at a loss. Improving visibility and utilisation of services is therefore increasingly critical. Luto’s approach offers a scalable solution for independent and mid-sized pharmacies, combining clear communication with commercial impact. Advertising on the screens can further enhance returns.
Following its February launch, the model is now being rolled out across the Northwest, with further partnerships being explored nationwide, including within NHS Trust settings.

“As an information scientist, with experience from both the NHS and M&S, I can see a wide gap between what pharmacies are trying to tell their patients, and what patients are understanding. Our work exists to close this gap, support high-street pharmacies and keep patients healthy.” Wayne Middleton, Luto (CEO)
“UK pharmacies are playing an increasingly important role in supporting patients, but many people are still unaware of the full range of services available to them. When patients understand what their pharmacy can offer, they engage earlier, conversations happen more naturally, and uptake of valuable pharmacy services increases.” David Pedder, Luto (iC Service Manager)
“I’ve really enjoyed working with the team at Luto. They have been very professional but also really friendly and flexible. The animations on our screens are very eye catching and have been well received by our customers and team members. I’m really looking forward to scaling up across our estate” Khalid Khan, Imaan Healthcare (Head of Training and Professional Standards)
