MEMBERS of Lymm Women’s Institute enjoyed a day out in Parliament at the invitation of MP Esther McVey to coincide with International Women’s Day.
The MP, whose Tatton constituency includes Lymm, invited the 20-strong group to Westminster where they had a Question and Answer session, watched Prime Minister’ss Question Time and had a tour of both the House of Commons and House of Lords.
Led by Lymm WI president Linda Skett, the group also experienced being in the public gallery and watching some of the Parliamentary debates of the day.
Afterwards, Ms McVey said: “A great day was had by all, and it was a pleasure to be able to host Lymm WI. We discussed PMQs and the etiquette of who sits where, how the questions work and how MPs are selected to speak and other little quirks from Parliament.
“I always enjoy meeting with constituents, and I look forward to seeing the ladies back again.”
