A man who suffered serious facial injuries after a car collided into his Warrington home during the early hours of the morning is now too afraid to return to the property.

Meanwhile, a 33-year-old local man, who was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, has been released pending investigation, while police await the results of bloods taken at hospital following the incident.

Emergency services attended at the property at around 4.17 am last Friday. Firefighters and paramedics attended to a 34-year-old man who suffered facial injuries after he was hit by masonry, as a car collided into the property as he slept on a sofa.
He was later transferred to Aintree hospital and had surgery on his jaw and lower mouth, which took about 7 hours.

The occupier of the property, Mohammed Mawlood, has now been released from hospital but says he is too “shocked and traumatised” to return to the property on O’Leary Street, Warrington.
He says he does not wish to go back into the property due to the incident and is now in temporary accommodation.
Cheshire Police have today confirmed that the driver of the car has been de-arrested pending further enquiries.

Last Friday (Feb 13) police issued a statement saying officers were called to reports of a collision on O’Leary Street, Warrington.
Officers attended the scene and found a Black MG had collided with a building at the junction of Norris Street.
Fire and paramedics were called to the scene, and one person was released from the car.
The 33-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

  1. Come on Warrington Guardian, can’t your journalists get their facts right. The house is on the corner of Norris Street and Hallfields Road. O’Leary Street is on the opposite side of the mini roundabout, across the road
