Three Bridges Nursing Home recently opened its doors to the local community for its annual Christmas Fair, bringing together residents, families, neighbours and local artisans for an afternoon filled with festive magic.
The home was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a magical grotto where Santa Claus and his team of cheerful elves welcomed excited children from across Warrington. Residents also joined in the fun, posing for festive photos with Santa. One resident said, “How lovely it was, and my grandchildren will be overjoyed to see a photo of me with Santa.”
The fair showcased a variety of stalls hosted by talented local creators, offering knitted toys, handmade jewellery, raffles, tombola’s and traditional Christmas games. Guests enjoyed refreshments like hot chocolates and a selection of seasonal treats as they explored the stalls.
A particularly touching moment came when a member of the care team, having won a raffle prize, chose a gigantic cracker filled with sweets because she knew a resident had his heart set on it. The joy on his face when she gifted it to him mirrored the spirit of the day perfectly.
Whitney Samson, Registered Home Manager, said, “What stood out today were the moments that showed just how strong the Three Bridges community is. Welcoming back families who have experienced loss this year was incredibly meaningful, and we were grateful they chose to spend the day with us. Seeing our residents, colleagues and visitors have a good time made the months of organisation well worth it. ”
The event not only celebrated Christmas but also reinforced the home’s commitment to fostering connection, remembrance and community togetherness. Three Bridges Nursing Home continues to play a vital role as a hub of warmth and support in Warrington, especially during the festive season.
