Great Sankey Artisan Market is on the move

The Great Sankey Artisan Market has a brand-new home!… and will now be known as The Penketh & Great Sankey Artisan Market.

After 5 years at The Woodlands pub, the market has now moved to Penketh Conservative Club, with Saturday September 20th being the re-launch event.
The new venue, just off Liverpool Road (A57) and right by Penketh High School, provides more space, more parking, and the same buzzing atmosphere.
Expect the same incredible line-up of artisan stalls, foodie favourites, live music, and family fun.

Launched 5 years ago by Independent Street in collaboration with Great Sankey Parish Council, the market quickly became a firm fixture in the local calendar. Born in the post-Covid period, it brought together residents, visitors, and makers, building a strong community spirit and a loyal following.
Lisa Cowley, founder of Independent Street said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Sharon, Michelle and the team for welcoming us with such enthusiasm and support as we take this next step. The new venue offers a fantastic event space, along with much-needed indoor areas—something that will be especially valuable as we head into the winter months.”
There will also be free parking a stone’s throw away at St Joseph’s Church.

This exciting new chapter will kick off this Saturday, with a massive comeback celebration featuring:
Just shy of 60 artisan stalls – including many favourites and returning award-winning traders
Live music throughout the day by Olly Flavell and Rob Gray – Dirt Pie Guitar.
FREE kids craft tables provided by Create Yourself
FREE Face Painting from 10am – 2.30pm
Sand Art Workshop by Amanda
Henna Art
FREE family entertainment show at 2pm by Kids Love 2 Party

Lisa added: “The Great Sankey Artisan Market holds such a special place in our hearts. It was one of the first events we launched, and over 5 years we’ve built up an incredibly loyal following. We believe our new site at the Con Club will breathe fresh life into the event. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our comeback party in September!”

2025 Great Sankey Artisan Market Dates:

Meanwhile an Artisan Market is continuing at The Woodlands on 3rd Saturday of every month.
After being approached by The Woodies, Warrington- based family business D&D Artisan Markets is now running the event.
A spokesperson said: “We are excited for this new era of The Great Sankey Artisan Market at The Woodies, as the previous market has now moved to Penketh.
“We will be providing everything from Street Food, to handmade artisan products such as cakes, bread, jewellery, crochet and much more. Plus, a FREE magician show/balloon modelling for the kids, as well as FREE slime decorating and Stitch Character Visit.”
