VANDALS have targeted a much-loved play area at Hood Manor, Great Sankey, Warrington.

Safety flooring from the Boat Park on Dorchester Road was thrown into a nearby garden while play equipment has been daubed with graffiti.

The Boat Park officially opened in 2010 at a cost of £130,000 raised by local residents.

Local Warrington Borough Cllr. Mo Hussain said: “I am aware of the graffiti and have reported it to Your Housing to be removed as they are responsible for the maintenance of the play area.
“This is a much loved play area which is enjoyed by so many children.
“It’s really disappointing, unattractive, and definitely not what you want to see in any play area.
“My former Ward colleague Amanda King and I worked tirelessly with Your Housing to bring back this play area to be enjoyed by the local children.
“We are in discussions with Great Sankey Parish Council and Your Housing to find long-term solutions to this issues.”
