COVID-19 infections rates continue to fall in Warrington with 60 new cases

COVID-19 infection rates are continuing to fall in Warrington, with 60 new cases reported in the town.

The 60 (99) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 28,901 (28,841). No further deaths have been reported at Warrington hospital where admissions have remained at 20, with six patients discharged over night.



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen again to 606 (632) – 289.4 (301.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is now below the national average of 297.1 (303.3) per 100,000, which have also fallen again.

Meanwhile, the latest figures for the UK has recorded 49 more COVID-19-related deaths and 36,100 new cases in the latest 24-hour period, with the number of COVID patients in hospital now at 7,847. It is the first time since 7 September that the number of patients has been below 8,000. The number of patients in mechanical ventilation beds currently stands at 1,011.
Since the pandemic began early last year, a total of 135,252 people have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive COVID test.
