A Warrington man who threatened to kill one of his neighbours and damaged their front door with an axe has been jailed.

Douglas Beever, of Warrington, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday 30 April where he was sentenced to three years.
The 45-year-old had pleaded guilty to criminal damage, threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
At 1.53am on Wednesday 4 March, one of Beever’s neighbours contacted police to say Beever had been using an axe to hit their front door, breaking the glass.
This had been part of ongoing issues with Beever which resulted in the neighbour ultimately asking him to try and be quieter inside his address, as they had been woken up by doors slamming and loud voices at unsociable hours.
Beever had then been aggressive towards the victim, who went back into their address.
Beever then appeared outside the front door with an axe and made threats to harm and kill the victim. Beever then damaged the door with the axe, as well as a bin shed.
Police attended the address and subsequently arrested him.
DC Miles Roughley said: “I welcome the custodial sentence handed to Beever, who clearly could not control his temper and made some incredibly frightening threats to a neighbour, even smashing their door with a dangerous weapon.
“This kind of behaviour cannot be tolerated, and Beever was swiftly arrested and charged for his actions.”
