WARRINGTON Town have submitted a planning application for two new stands at the Cantilever bridge end of their Cal.Delivery Stadium home.
The two 100-seat stands will sit either side of the popular ‘shed end’, to create more covered and seated accommodation for fans.
Attendances have increased significantly over the past five years or so, with the club experiencing its highest ever league finish in the football pyramid back in 2024.
A club statement said: “The two new 100-seater stands will sit either side of the existing popular ‘Shed End’ terrace, and will be made possible by the support of a new major partner for the club, details of which will be revealed once the plans have been rubber-stamped.
“Although the new stands will have minimal impact on the capacity of the ground, they will provide additional seating and more importantly, more covered accommodation for fans to enjoy the matchday experience.
“The new seats will also take the stadium beyond the 500-seat mark that is required for potential participation in the National League North play-offs and beyond in future.
“It also provides regular seating behind the goal for home fans, when the stand at the other end – constructed back in 2024 – is segregated for usage by away fans only.
“Subject to planning approval and the receipt of match funding from the Premier League Stadium Fund, the intention is for the work to be completed ahead of the 2026/27 season.”
In 2024, the club added a new stand at the opposite end of the ground – a covered all-seater stand and an adjacent standing terrace, together with toilet block and food/drink kiosks, to help service the growing crowd numbers. That end also acted as a segregated away end for visiting fans when required.
Further work is planned at the ground in relation to the traditional snack bar, exit gates and the open areas behind the away end stand.
After a slow start to the season, the Yellows are now on a run of four consecutive wins ahead of back-to-back away games against Hebburn Town and Bamber Bridge.
