WARRINGTON-based theatre company Soup Productions is returning to the stage with its drama, “Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Last Laugh”

Based on characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his colleague, Dr John Watson, must investigate a series of bizarre deaths across Baker Street. It’s 1891 and there is a mystery toxin effecting Victorian London, causing its residents to laugh themselves to death. Can Holmes and Watson solve this deadly crime, or have they finally met their match?
This show follows a very busy and rewarding period for Soup, where they recently won a NODA award for its production of Robin Hood. The group has also received a commission from Culture Warrington to produce a new drama for Warrington Pride, called “The House, The Boys and The Trial” – based on true historical events in Warrington. This will be followed up with a comedy called ‘Checkout’ and Soup’s annual pantomime in December.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We are proud to be a theatre company that specialises in originally written work and projects. Our members are heavily involved with the group. Whether it’s set design or choreography or production, everyone gets stuck in and aims to get the best result from our shows.
‘Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Last Laugh’ takes place at St Thomas’ Church Hall, Stockton Heath on Friday and Saturday April. 25/26 7:30pm evening start, 2pm Saturday Matinee start. Tickets are £15/£13 concession. Tickets are available now at www.ticketsource.co.uk/soupproductions.
