POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 85-year-old man was left in a critical condition with serious injuries following a two-car collision at Lymm.
At 3.49 pm on Monday 17 March, a silver Lexus and a red Hyundai Tucson collided on Rectory Lane near to the junction with Rectory Gardens.
The driver of the Hyundai, an 85-year-old man from Lymm, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Lexus, a 56-year-old man from Lymm, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the drug drive limit.
Emergency services attended at the scene, including three fire crews who helped cut a casualty from a vehicle. The North West Air Ambulance was also in attendance.
Sgt Simon Degg said: “There were two pedestrians on Rectory Lane at the time of the collision who I would urge to make contact with us. The same goes for anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who has dashcam footage that may assist with our investigation.”
