WARRINGTON’S teenage darts star Luke Littler has been crowned Czech Darts Open champion after a superb 8-6 victory over Luke Humphries in Sunday’s final in Prague.
The world number one produced a magnificent performance on his return to the European Tour, completing a remarkable day which saw him win four matches and lift the trophy for the first time.
Littler had not played in a European Tour event since March, but showed no signs of ring rust as he battled through a gruelling finals day.
His route to the title began with a 6-3 victory over Krzysztof Ratajski, before he produced a devastating 6-0 whitewash against Danny Noppert in the quarter-finals.
He then faced one of the biggest tests of the day against Michael van Gerwen in the semi-final.
Littler responded in style, producing a brilliant 106.64 average to beat the Dutchman 7-3 and set up a mouth-watering final against his great rival Humphries.
Humphries, the defending champion, had reached the final after beating Gerwyn Price 7-4 and was bidding to win the Czech Darts Open for a third consecutive year.
But Littler was determined to make his return to the European Tour a winning one.
The 19-year-old made the perfect start, winning the opening two legs, only for Humphries to respond by taking three consecutive legs and moving 3-2 ahead.Littler refused to panic.
The youngster levelled the match and then produced one of the moments of the final in the ninth leg, firing in a 130 checkout to regain the initiative.
He then took the next two legs to move into a commanding 7-4 lead, leaving himself just one leg away from victory.
Humphries, however, showed exactly why he is one of the world’s best players.
He fought back to 7-6 and came agonisingly close to forcing a deciding leg, narrowly missing two darts at double 16.
Littler was given his opportunity — and he took it.
The teenager calmly pinned double 10 to seal an 8-6 victory and claim the £35,000 winner’s prize.
Littler finished the final with a 95.25 average, five 180s and that crucial 130 checkout.
More importantly, he had completed a remarkable return to European Tour action with another piece of silverware.
The victory is Littler’s **sixth European Tour title**, achieved in just his 16th appearance on the circuit. It also guarantees his qualification for the European Championship in Dortmund in October.
After lifting the trophy, Littler summed up his return to the circuit in typically confident fashion, declaring: “It’s good to be back and I’m back with a bang.”
And there could be much more to come.
Littler is already chasing an extraordinary clean sweep of the major titles in 2026, having established himself as the dominant force in world darts.
His Prague victory will only strengthen that reputation.
For the Warrington star, a six-month break from the European Tour has ended in the best possible way — with another trophy heading home.
