POLICE have been alerted after three suspected arson incidents in the Warrington area yesterday (Saturday).
At 17:23, one fire engine from Warrington was called out to Knutsford Road.
Firefighters extinguished a fire in the open measuring around 5×5 metres. It is believed to have been a deliberate ignition; police have been notified.
Then at 19:39, one fire engine from Warrington was called out to Garrett Field near Birchwood, where firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire contained to a yard. It is believed to have been a deliberate ignition, and police have been notified.
At 21:51, one fire crew from Warrington was called to Ledyard Close on a footpath to Lilford Avenue.
Firefighters used their water backpacks to extinguish a fire involving a rubbish bin. Police were notified as it is suspected a deliberate ignition.
Finally, at 06:59, one crew member was called out to an unnamed road in the Orford area.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets and one main jet to extinguish a fire involving a pile of wood chips. A fire investigator believed that the pile had self-combusted causing it to ignite itself.
At 08:00 fire crews are using a thermal imaging camera to monitor the pile and dampen it down where needed.
