Road closure for up to 10 weeks on Farnworth Road, Penketh

A road closure of up to 10 weeks will take place on Farnworth Road, Penketh next month (March) to allow replacement works on a concrete culvert structure and debris screens.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Farnworth Road (northeast traffic) from its junction with Widnes Road for a distance of approximately 80 metres in a north easterly direction.
The Order will be effective from 12th March 2025. The closure is for a period of 10 weeks, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Widnes Road and Warrington Road. The closure is required to allow for the replacement of the concrete culvert structure and debris screens.
