UP to five weekends of road closures are scheduled from next weekend (Jan 18) which will impact access to the Jubilee Hub at Orford, to allow Scottish Power to install a new power main.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Jubilee Way from its junction with Winwick Road for a distance of approximately 240 metres in an easterly direction to the traffic island by the Jubilee Hub; Ireland Street from its junction with Winwick Road to its junction with North Avenue; Jockey Street for its entire length; Longford Street from its junction with Winwick Road to its junction with Hale Street; Bluecoat Street for its entire length.
The Order will be effective from 18th January 2025. The works will be carried out in phases over consecutive weekends with only one closure in place at any one time for a period of 5 weekends, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be signed on site. The closures are required to allow for Scottish Power to install a new 33KV main.
