A flood warning has been issued in Dallam as the Sankey Brook level breached 3.10 metres with water levels rising.

A number of roads across the town are also flooded, including Stockton Lane, Grappenhall and Booths Lane, Lymm, with brook and river levels particularly high.

It comes after the Environment Agency issued a number of flood warnings and alerts as heavy rain fell yesterday.
The New Year Day warning was issued by the Environment Agency on Wednesday as the level hit 3.40 metres at 10 am.
Residents in Higham Avenue have been urged to take action in case their properties are impacted by flooding and to protect their loved ones and move their belongings and pets to safe places.
It follows a period of exceptionally high rainfall on New Year’s Eve which led to the cancellation of major fireworks displays.
Among the areas at risk in the Environment Agency flood warnings are Chepstow Close, Colwyn Close, and properties on and around Higham Avenue, Tavlin Avenue, Hodgkinson Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Hawleys Lane and Mullen Close.
The highest-ever recording taken at the monitoring station was in January 2021, when it reached 3.81 metres.
And the top of the normal range before flooding is likely to occur is 2.81 metres, according to the Environment Agency.
A flood warning means flooding is expected so residents should act now.
The Environment Agency usually issues a flood warning between 30 minutes and two hours before flooding is expected.
People in affected areas are urged to
• protect yourself and your loved ones
• move your loved ones, pets and valuables to a safe place
• move to higher ground or the upper floor of a building
• turn off the gas, electricity and water in your home if it’s safe
• put flood protection equipment in place
• do as the emergency services tell you
• help others if it’s safe to do so
