Cromwell Spitfires U8s football team is stepping out in style this season thanks to new shirts sponsored by housebuilder Bellway.
With its latest new development, known as The Landings, taking shape on Burtonwood Road, not far from the club’s training ground at Mary Ann Meadows, the housebuilder was keen to support the Spitfires at grassroots level within the local community.
A fun and determined team, the Cromwell Spitfires U8s are part of Cromwell Athletic JFC, a junior club formed in 1996 to provide organised football for children within the Westbrook area of Warrington.
Attracting children from Westbrook, Great Sankey and Burtonwood, the Spitfires play in the Warrington Junior Football League and meet twice a week, once to train and once for a match on a Saturday morning.
Delighted to pledge its support to the youngsters as they excitedly get stuck into their second season, Bellway has covered the cost of new bright white and blue shirts for the team with each one featuring the Bellway logo on the front.
Cromwell Spitfires manager, Sean Phillips, commented: “Without support from sponsors such as Bellway, clubs would struggle to provide grassroots football for our youngsters. Despite only having played together for one full season, the Spitfires are a hugely committed and passionate team. A combination of learning, development and fun led to them lifting the silverware in a tournament in their very first year. They are excited to get started on this next season and will have a fresh new kit to play in for the next two years thanks to Bellway.”
