WEATHER warnings for high winds in excess of 50mph are in force for Warrington from tomorrow for three consecutive days.
The yellow Met Office weather warning for some possible disruption from strong and gusty winds is in place from Thursday afternoon at 3 pm until 6 am on Friday.
Heavy rain is expected to fall between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning with a separate Met Office yellow weather warning in place for the weekend.
There are warnings that bus and train services will be affected with some journeys taking longer.
And there could be short-term loss of power and other essential services as a result of the poor weather.
High-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, such as the Thelwall Viaduct, could face delays as a result of the blustery winds.
A separate weather warning for rain and high wind comes into effect from 3 pm on Friday until 6 am on Sunday.
The Met Office forecasters said a deep low is expected to cross England and Wales from Friday afternoon bringing a period of strong winds.
There’s also heavy rain likely to fall to the north and west of the low centre, which includes Warrington.
Around 15mm to 25mm of rain is expected to fall quite widely. Gusts of around 40 to 50mph inland could touch in excess of 60mph.
The wind and rain may cause disruption to travel with driving conditions set to be difficult.
Temperatures will see highs of around 7C or 8C from Friday with lows of 3C. It will be milder on Thursday before the rain hits, with highs of 13C and lows of 5C.
