Birchwood-based interior design and fit-out business Claremont has joined the fight to save baby hospice Zoe’s Place from closure.
Claremont selected Zoe’s Place as its charity of the year in July and has now raised more than £10,000 to help the hospice keep its doors open.
Zoe’s Place, based in West Derby in Liverpool, has attracted significant media interest over the last few weeks after the news broke that they need to urgently raise funds for a new Liverpool facility.
So far, Claremont’s fundraising activities have included hosting its Annual Charity Golf Day at Carden Park with support from Claremont’s suppliers and subcontractors, completing the three peaks challenge and organising monthly themed breakfasts for the team, with all proceeds going to Zoe’s.
Claremont also hosted its first-ever Claremont-Fest at Warrington Irish Club, which featured musical performances from colleagues and friends, a guest band and a resident DJ.
Several of Claremont’s team have also taken on personal challenges, choosing to run half marathons and 10ks across the North West.
Business analyst Joe McKay is part of Claremont’s fundraising committee. He said, “We picked Zoe’s Place as a charity to get behind this year. When we heard that Zoe’s Place was going through difficulties, we ramped up our fundraising efforts and hope to raise even more before the end of the year. Seeing the community come together for such an important cause has been amazing. We hope our donation will help the hospice continue its important work.”
Claremont’s Managing Director Tim Frankland added: “Fundraising and supporting community projects have always been at the heart of Claremont. Since we became an Employee Ownership Trust in 2020, charitable giving has become even more central to how we operate, and our team chooses which charities and projects we’ll support each year.
“Zoe’s Place cares for babies and young children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and offers crucial support to so many families across the North West. We are hugely grateful that our whole team, as well as our suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, have all got behind the cause and are doing what they can to help keep Zoe’s Place open.”
Claremont has been delivering office interior design and fit-out projects from its Warrington, Bristol and London offices for more than 48 years. Claremont was the first of its industry peers to assume the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) model in 2020.
