REVIVAL plans have been drawn up for the refurbishment and change of use of one of Warrington town centre’s eyesore sites.
The scheme would see the old Packet House pub at the corner of Bridge Street and Mersey Street and adjoining disused commercial properties become 18 house-in-multiple occupation bedrooms, with ensuites.
It is envisaged the properties would appeal to young professionals seeking affordable accommodation in the local vicinity.
It is believed the Packet House pub last traded more than 20 years ago and closed after a period of poor trading.
The adjoining properties have also been unused for a lengthy period.
Eight new windows would be added at the rear of the buildings – five of which are believed to be reinstatements of blocked up windows.
Part of the ground floor would be redeveloped as a high quality commercial unit and the whole building – which ahs been deteriorating for some time – would be restored to a high standards.
Cover storage for 16 bicycles would be provided.
The scheme is currently being studied by Warrington Borough Council planners.

You’re trolling, right? You aren’t that stupid to say “we don’t need more houses – do something for the homeless”…. This is definitely the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen.
