WARRINGTON residents Alice Meyer and her partner, Chris Wood, have successfully completed an emotional skydive in memory of Alice’s brother, Thomas, who took his own life 10 years ago.
The couple’s leap from 15,000 feet took place on Friday, September 13, two days before the 10th anniversary of Thomas’s passing, and raised £1,270 for Suicide Prevention UK.
The skydive was a meaningful way to commemorate Thomas while raising money for a cause close to many hearts. Suicide Prevention UK provides essential resources and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues, aiming to prevent suicide and offer hope to those in need.
Alice and Chris received an outpouring of support from family, friends, and even strangers, with donations surpassing their target. The £1,270 raised will directly support Suicide Prevention UK’s mission to help individuals in crisis and spread awareness about the importance of mental health support.
As the couple reflects on their journey, they hope their efforts have not only raised money but also drawn attention to the vital work being done to prevent suicide. They encourage anyone struggling with mental health to seek help and know they are not alone.
