Firefighters use beaters and water backpacks to put out large grass fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called out to tackle a grass fire covering 50 square metres which was well alight.

At 16:38 one crew from Warrington was called out to reports of a fire on land off Pennington Lane, Collins Green, near Warrington.

Approximately 50 square metres of grass was well alight near Pennington Lane. Firefighters used beaters and water backpacks to extinguish the fire.
No details have been given of the cause.
