Penketh Carnival cancelled

THIS year’s Penketh Carnival, scheduled to take place on July 20, has been cancelled.

Organisers took to social media to make the announcement earlier today, citing extensive drainage works.

In a statement posted on Facebook it said: “We are so very sorry that we have to cancel this year’s carnival.

“Extensive drainage works are required on Greystone Rec and these have been heavily delayed by the recent bad weather.
“We have looked at other dates/venue options but unfortunately none are feasible.
“We will contact everyone that has already booked to attend this year’s carnival, stallholders please check your inboxes.
“As soon as we have news about 2025 we will let you all know.”
