POLICE are seeking witnesses after a young schoolgirl was followed home from school at Bewsey, Warrington, by a stranger earlier this week.

It follows police receiving reports of suspicious activity when a 13-year-old schoolgirl said she had been followed home by an unknown male who she described as Asian.

While he made no attempt to talk with her or grab her police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

A spokesperson from Chesire Police said: “At around 4.10 pm on Monday 25 March police were called to reports of suspicious activity in Warrington. The caller reported that a 13-year-old girl had been followed home from school by an unknown man.
“The teenager was walking from Beamont Academy towards Bewsey Primary at around 2.30 pm when she became aware of an unknown man who appeared to be following her. At no point did the man speak to the girl or attempt to grab her.
“He is described as an Asian man who was wearing a black gilet and red tracksuit.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information should contact Cheshire police on 101 or at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML 1785583.”
