Firefighters help rescue cat trapped in tree for 24 hours

FIREFIGHTERS from Penketh helped rescue a cat trapped in a tree for around 24 hours this morning.

At 09:13 one crew from Penketh was called out to reports of a cat stuck in a tree on Widnes Road, Cuerdley near Penketh.

A cat had been stuck in a tree for around 24 hours. Firefighters were called to protect the safety of the public who had made multiple attempts to retrieve the cat.

One firefighter used a short extension ladder to safely return the cat to its owner.
