STEFAN Ratchford set a new Super League goalkicking record as Warrington Wolves moved top of the table with a 58-4 win at London Broncos.

On a first-ever visit to the Cherry Red Records Stadium, the Wolves made light work of defeating the relegation favourites to make it four wins out of five at the start of 2024.

In the process, Ratchford nailed his 41st consecutive goal kick to set a new Super League record and equal the world record,  as he landed his first eight kicks of the afternoon, before dragging one wide after Matt Dufty’s hat-trick try.

Josh Thewlis also crossed for a treble as Warrington ran in 10 tries, including four in the first half which helped them to a 24-4 lead at half-time.

Ratchford played alongside youngster Leon Hayes in the absence of England international George Williams and Josh Drinkwater and Hayes put a try on for Thewlis after Adam Holroyd had opened the scoring with the first of his two tries.

Hakim Miloudi at least got London on the board but it was a mere blip in the afternoon for Warrington, as soon after Dufty fielded a Miloudi kick and raced 80 metres.

Thewlis scored his second try barely seconds in to the second half and then Joe Bullock, returning to the side following a loan spell at Hull, went close moments before Dufty crossed for a second of his own.

James Harrison got the eighth try, which set the platform for Ratchford’s record breaking, although he would miss the next one, before adding his ninth converting his own try late on.
