Fire crews release one casualty following collision on M6 at Winwick

FIRE crews helped release one trapped casualty following a collision involving a lorry and a car in roadworks on the M6 at Winwick, Warrington.

At 16:30 yesterday, Friday, crews from Warrington and Greater Manchester attended reports of a collision on the M6 Southbound J21a (M62).

Emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the M6 Southbound within J21a (M62) roadworks.

Crews extricated one casualty from their vehicle and handed them into the care of paramedics.

Two lanes of the carriageway were closed but have since reopened.
