THIS year’s Warrington Running Festival organised by RunThrough, the UK’s largest and Europe’s fastest-growing running events company, has been nominated for the National Running Show’s ‘Event of the Year’ award.
The recognition underscores the festival’s success in delivering the world’s first free-to-enter road-closed mass participation running event.
The Warrington Running Festival delivered exceptional experiences, offering the world’s first free-to-enter, chip-timed running event, enabling individuals from less affluent communities access to an event which may usually be out of reach. The event succeeded in achieving the RunThrough Foundation’s aim of getting more people into running for the physical and mental health benefits associated with 66% of participants having never taken part in an officially organised event before.
The National Running Show nomination acknowledges the festival’s outstanding contribution to the running community, recognising its tireless efforts in organising memorable events that inspire, motivate, and bring joy to participants.
“We are thrilled to receive this nomination for Event of the Year,” said Ben Green, Co-Founder of RunThrough. “This recognition reflects the dedication and passion of our team, as well as the unwavering support from our runners, volunteers, and the Warrington community. We are immensely grateful for this acknowledgment and remain committed to delivering exceptional experiences that continue to celebrate running,” he added.
The public’s support is crucial for the Warrington Running Festival to win the event of the year category. Voting for the National Running Show Awards is now open until the 3rd of January 2024.
