PLANS for a 10-bedroom house-in-multiple-occupation in Bridge Street, Warrington, have been submitted to the borough council.
The scheme involves a change of use of two former hot food takeways in adjoining three-storey buildings which closed in 2015 and 2019. The properties have been empty ever since.
A report to council planners says the terraced properties are thought to date from Victorian times.
The proposals from Property Touch Ltd are for 10 single rooms, two on the ground floor and four each on the first and second floors.
There would also be communal areas on the ground floor, including a large open plan kitchen and dining area and a laundry.
The applicants say the development would provide high quality accommodation appealing to young professionals wishing to live near the town centre.
Existing shopfronts would be removed and the front of the building would be remodelled in line with the upper floors.
There would be a central entrance door.
The properties are adjoined by a nail bar.
At the rear there would be bin storage and also storage for up to 10 bicycles.
The proposals are now being studied by borough council planners.
