UPDATE: The M6 has now reopened following a serious collision earlier this morning.
The M6 northbound at Warrington was closed following a serious multi-vehicle collision during rush hour traffic this morning.
Emergency services were in attendance with the northbound carriageway closed within Junction 21 of the M6.
Delays of 90 minutes were reported northbound and 45 minutes southbound.
At 7:58 am three fire crews from Lymm, Warrington and Birchwood attended at the scene of the multi-vehicle collision on M6 Northbound J20-J21.
Crews worked to release a casualty trapped in one of the vehicles.
This incident is now clear, and all lanes have re-opened northbound within J21 (#Warrington).
A 50 minute delay remains in the area but should now start to ease.
