Police confirm death of teenage man after incident at Padgate Station

POLICE have today sadly confirmed the death of an 18-year-old man on the tracks at Padgate Station on Saturday afternoon.

The incident resulted in the closure of the station and the main line between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Police were called to Padgate Station at around 1.13pm on Saturday, November 18, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, but sadly a person – an 18-year-old man – was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
