NHS patients registered with three Warrington medical centres now have access to an award-winning mental health service.

This is as a result of a partnership between East Warrington Primary Care Network and the Harrogate-based mental health service My Possible Self (MPS).

Birchwood, Fearnhead Cross and Padgate medical centres – all members of the primary care network.
My Possible Self helps people manage anxiety, tackle depression, ease stress and improve sleep by providing clinically certified interactive tools and coping strategies based on cognitive behavioural therapy.

MPS is among the top ranked mental health apps in the UK and it is the first time the app has partnered with a primary care network, which is a group of GP practices that work together to deliver NHS services at scale.
Working with East Warrington Primary Care Network, MPS has customised the app with an overview of the primary care network and details of the health and wellbeing team, information on how to self-refer to key local services and a crisis button linked to Mersey Care which provides a local crisis helpline.
Joanne Wilkinson (pictured above), founder of My Possible Self, said: “When people experience stress, anxiety and depression, it can be difficult to know where to turn for help. Now they can access a new level of support, thanks to our partnership with East Warrington Primary Care Network.
“My Possible Self is available around the clock to help people take care of themselves, find out about key local services and get in touch with the health and wellbeing team when they need extra support from the NHS.”
Dr Rakhi Raj, clinical director for East Warrington Primary Care Network, said: “We were keen to explore a digital offer for our local population, providing them with tools and resources to allow them to manage their mental wellbeing in a way that suits them. My Possible Self provided us with a platform to do this and customise the app to include local information that patients can self-refer to.”
