Four children escape uninjured as firefighters help rescue trapped casualty after collision

UPDATED: TWO fire crews helped rescue a trapped person who suffered head injuries following a single-vehicle collision near the Cat and Lion Pub at Stretton, Warrington, on Tuesday evening.

Four children who were passengers in the car were uninjured.

At 21:52 crews from Lymm and Stockton Heath attended the scene of the collision on Hatton Lane, Stretton, where police had put a road closure in place after a Rangfe Rover collided with a hedge.

Fireifghters arrived at the scene of the single-car collision where a casualty was trapped in the vehicle. The crews stabilised the car and extricated the casualty, handing them into the care of paramedics. They then made the scene safe before handing the incident over.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: “At 9.50 pm on Tuesday 17 October police were called to a collision on Hatton Lane, Hatton.
“Officers attended and found a white Range Rover estate had collided with a hedge.
“The driver of the car sustained head injuries and was treated by paramedics. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“Four children who were also in the vehicle were uninjured.
“The scene was cleared by 11.30 pm.”
