AS well as being ranked one of the best places for a night out in the UK new research has revealed Warrington as one of the top 10 safest places for a night out.

Based on factors such as safety index score Warrington featured in 6th place after scoring 8.96/10.

The research, carried out by security experts at Get Licensed, revealed the best UK towns and cities for a night out based on factors such as safety score, the average cost of a pint, the number of bars, clubs and pubs per 100,000 people, the percentage of people feeling worried about being mugged, assaulted and more.

Warrington came third after Newcastle and York with a “Best Night Out Score”: 8.01 out of 10

Situated between Manchester and Liverpool with lots of pubs and bars in its vibrant centre Warrington scored 8.01 out of 10 for safety.
Warrington has a total of 279 CAMRA pubs (169 per 100,000) and also had among the lowest scores for its resident safety concerns, with just 11% of locals worried about being assaulted due to hate crimes.
Pubgoers in the area generally feel safer about walking home alone at night than in other towns, with 52% of residents feeling safe doing so.
The data used for the number of bars and clubs was taken from Tripadvisor, while the number of pubs close to each location was taken from CAMRA’s whatpub.com. This data was compared to the populations of each town and city using data from World Population Review.

Numbeo safety data was used to track a range of safety-related factors for each town and city.
All of these factors were combined into a single overall score, where each was given equal weight. Separate scores were also created for each town and city based purely on drinking factors and safety factors.

Warrington again ranked as one of best places in the UK for a night out!

  1. I don’t know where they get all this rubbish from .
Warrington safe to go out at night in ? Your having a laugh !
For one half the licensed premises are closed and two the prices are extortionate.
This is what WBC have done to the town centre over the last 20 years neglected it and driven it into the ground.

    • I go out in Warrington town centre nearly every week of my life and have a great time. There are hot spots of trouble from those who can’t hold their drink like any town or city centre. But on the whole Warrington town centre is a great night out and I no longer feel the need to travel to Manchester or Liverpool. Not sure why you have to make it political.

  2. I’ll tell you why I make it political Gary because WBC are responsible for the decline and downfall of the Town Centre and outlying districts because of their failure to recognise the constituents concerns

    • I am the most politically neutral person you can find – and I can tell you now, having been a visitor to Warrington town centre for more than 50 years and being involved in a family business retail shop in the town centre and a regularly socialising over many years – it is better now than it has ever been.
I was getting beaten up and assaulted in my 20s outside various venues while minding my own business, while also witnessing friends being attacked and knocked senseless. There was no cultural quarter and no fine dining restaurants and no cocktail bars. We have had various governments and political parties in charge over the past half-century and it is the people and the businesses that make a town – not a political party! I’ve noticed you appear to have a pretty negative outlook on Warrington full-stop. Time to stop moaning and do something positive. I can find lots of positive projects to get you involved with rather than spending time on the keyboard!

      • If I want a nice night out Gary I go to my home City Chester which has a better environment than Warrington. There are plenty of restaurants that extend their service areas onto the footpaths and Streets. There are plenty of visual attractions what with the to an walls the cathedral the river Dee and the groves area . Plus the story house do I need to continue ? Chester premier league Warrington National league status !

        • Chester and Warrington are in the same division when it comes to football now 🙂 Both National League North. If you like Chester so much and want to support your home city why don’t you move there instead of dragging Warrington down with negativity? – I work hard to try and make my home town a better place – if everyone else did – guess what it would be an even better place. Most of your gripes seem political – and guess what – the same party runs Chester. I could go online and post negative comments about all kinds of things – but I rarely do now unless absolutely necessary. Negative thoughts produce negative outcomes. Try and take a positive outlook and you will feel much better in life. Happy to show you around all the positive things I’m involved with in Warrington.

  3. I think Gary Bebbington is afraid to travel outside his front door because dangers exist in his tortured mind. I am not sure how he can criticise Warrington for not having Roman ruins and a cathedral. Maybe we should build some.
