Invitation to visit Warrington Male Voice Choir open evening

WARRINGTON Male Voice Choir is hosting a special open evening as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations for a taster of their choir rehearsal.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be in a male voice choir – now is your opportunity to find out! Do you like to sing? Do you like meeting people? Are you available on a Monday & Thursday evening for rehearsal and some Saturday evenings for a concert? If you answered ‘yes’, then joining the choir could be for you. You don’t have to be able to read music (some find it advantageous, but many members don’t read music).

Musical Director, Russell Paterson, said: “Even if you think you know what choir rehearsals are all about, please come along because you might be surprised by what you see on the evening. Choirs are all about fun and singing and we do both pretty well!”
Whether in concert or competition, singing traditional or modern pieces under the leadership of experienced musical staff, the choir’s enthusiasm, enjoyment and commitment are there for all to see.
Chairman, Craig Bunting, added “You don’t have to be Pavarotti to sing in a choir. If you love singing and the odd bad joke or two, come along to our open evening and see how you could enhance this award-winning choir!”
Warrington Male Voice Choir is one of the oldest choirs in the United Kingdom, tracing its formation back to 1898 and this year, the choir is celebrating their 125th anniversary! It is built on tradition, with a strong community focus, is continually developing and reflecting the music of the day.
If you want to find out more, then join Warrington Male Voice Choir on Monday 11th September 2023, 7.30pm at Alford Hall Sports & Social Club, Manchester Road, Warrington, WA1 3NJ. Free parking can be found at the rear of the club, though please come early as it soon gets full! Feel free to bring a friend and have a listen. Enjoy refreshments at half time where you will also get the opportunity to meet some of the choir’s current members, along with their Musical Director, Russell Paterson. You won’t be disappointed by what you see or hear.
