New parking restrictions after delivery vehicles forced to abandon deliveries to supermarket

0

PARKING restrictions are set to change on a Stockton Heath road due to problems caused for delivery vehicles accessing a car park behind a local supermarket during the evenings.

Highway planners at Warrington Borough Council say increased pressures on evening parking on Dundonald Avenue have been causing accessibility issues for local supermarket delivery vehicle access into the car park served from this road. They say it has been reported that the restrictions have caused delivery vehicles to abandon delivering to the supermarket on average twice weekly resulting in a costly expense.

To deal with this problem it is proposed to adjust the parking restriction times from the junction of A56 Walton New Road to adjacent to the access road to the Forge Car Park.
The problems have been caused for delivery vehicles accessing the Aldi store on the Church Farm site caused by vehicles parking while people visit local restauarnts and bars in the area – part of an ongoing issue with parking in the village.
