A GROUP of dedicated volunteers hiked up Snowdon to help raise funds for animals in need at Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW).

The Snowdon challenge aimed to raise £1,000 to help buy a new ultrasound machine – a vital piece of equipment for the WAW onsite clinic as part of their campaign to reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned pets, through encouraging responsible pet ownership and providing low-cost neutering.
Funds will also go to help support the rehoming centre, offering help and assistance to rehome unwanted pets.
WAW Trustee Janet Thornton said:“We are so proud of our amazing volunteer vets, who took up the Snowdon challenge, and it is testament to their enthusiasm and sheer determination that they reached the top, despite the weather taking a turn for the worst.

“We would like to thank all those who supported the event and the incredible number of sponsors who donated to help us to continue to help animals in need, which has been and continues to be a challenging time.”
The team have already raised over £2,000 which will make a real impact for the charity – but they would like to reach £2,500.
It doesn’t need to stop there though! The Just Giving page will remain open until the end of August, so anyone who still wants to sponsor them, should visit the JustGiving page to donate safety and securely: www.justgiving.com/page/wawhikingsnowdon
